Guided by Understanding, Rooted in Compassion

Meet Liz

Hi I'm Liz! I'm so happy to have you here. I'm a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the founder of Raising Roots Behavior Guidance. I've mainly worked in a school-based setting developing systems to support students in accessing their educational and community setting. After becoming a mother, I noticed a lack of support for everyday families who were unsure how to navigate their children's behavior concerns.
Transitioning my practice from school-based BCBA to a parent-coaching model made complete sense to me. My philosophy remains the same: behavior is communication and it's essential for children to have access to and feel same to communicate their wants and needs to starting making change. My approach remains the same: use the science of behavior analysis to make sense of everyday challenges in a way that's clear, approachable, and easy to apply. Thus, Raising Roots Behavior Guidance was grown with the goal of supporting families through every season.
My background in psychology and professional training in trauma informed care and child development influence my practice as together we will support the foundational skills (roots!) in your child all while fostering the parent-child connection.
Philosophy
When children feel safe, understood, and connected, they're better able to express their needs, regulate their emotions, and navigate the world around them. When we understand behavior as communication, we can respond with compassion, teach meaningful skills, and build stronger relationships.

Values
At the root of our work is our emphasis on compassion, connection, collaboration, curiosity, and empowerment.
Compassion: We believe every child and every caregiver deserves empathy, patience, and support.
Connection: One of our goal is to foster connection between the caregiver and child. Strong relationships are the foundation for learning, growth, and lasting change.
Collaboration: Meaningful progress is determined by the family. Our work is designed to support you and your family. Caregivers are a collaborator through every step of the process.
Curiosity: We approach behavior with curiosity rather than judgement, seeking to understand what children are communicating before deciding how to respond.
Empowerment: We believe parents are their child's greatest teachers. Our role is to provide the knowledge, tools, and confidence families need to support their child's growth.
Approach
Our approach blends behavioral science with a deep respect for child development and parent intuition. We help parents understand the why behind behaviors and build practical, sustainable strategies that strengthen connection and emotional regulation. Through personalized guidance, in-home sessions, and structured support plans, we help families build strong foundations during the earliest and most important years.

The Journey to Planting Roots
1
Discovery Phase
Every service at Raising Roots Behavior Guidance begins with the Discovery Phase- a collaborative process designed to help us understand your family's unique strengths, challenges, values, and goals before creating a personalized plan to move forward. This thoughtful foundation ensures our work is individualized, collaborative, and focused on creating meaningful change for your family.
2
Guidance Phase
The Guidance Phase is where understanding turns into action. Together, we'll put your personalized plan into practice through collaborative coaching, problem-solving, and ongoing support tailored to your family's daily life. During each session, we'll review progress, celebrate successes, address new challenges, and refine strategies as your child grows and develops. My goal is to provide practical, evidence-based guidance that feels realistic, sustainable, and aligned to your family's values.
3
Growth Phase
The Growth Phase is where we celebrate progress, strengthen confidence, and prepare your family for continued success. Together, we'll reflect on the growth you've made, reinforce the strategies that have been most effective, and develop a plan for maintaining progress as your child continues to grow and develop. This phase is designed to ensure you feel confident and capable applying what you've learned to move forward on your own.
